Dry Eye Treatment in Surrey
Dry eye disease is one of the most common conditions we see at Look Optometry. Many patients experience burning, irritation, watery eyes, or tired eyes when using screens. While artificial tears may provide temporary relief, they often do not address the underlying cause.
At Look Optometry, we focus on identifying the root cause of dry eye and providing treatments that improve the health and function of your tear film.
Common Symptoms of Dry Eye
Burning or stinging eyes
Watery or irritated eyes
Gritty or sandy feeling in the eyes
Blurred or fluctuating vision
Light sensitivity
Eye fatigue during screen use
Contact lens discomfort
If these symptoms occur regularly, a comprehensive dry eye evaluation can help determine the cause.
Advanced Dry Eye Diagnostics
At Look Optometry we use advanced diagnostic technology to understand the underlying cause of dry eye symptoms.
Our clinic uses the Medmont Meridia topographer to evaluate the ocular surface and analyze the tear film. This technology can also capture images of the meibomian glands, helping us identify gland blockage or gland loss.
We also use the Firefly slit lamp imaging system to carefully examine the eyelids, tear film, and ocular surface. This allows us to document inflammation, gland function, and other signs of dry eye disease.
These diagnostic tools help us determine the most effective treatment plan for your specific condition.
Advanced Dry Eye Treatments at Look Optometry
We offer several modern treatments for dry eye depending on the underlying cause:
• IPL therapy
• BlephEx eyelid treatment
• LipiFlow thermal pulsation
• Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) explanation - Blocked Eye Glands
Many patients experience significant improvement once blocked glands are opened and inflammation is reduced.
Your treatment plan is customized based on your specific condition.
