Dr. Sunny Bhullar
(Registered as Shailinder Bhullar, Optometrist)
Optometrist | Vision Advocate | Entrepreneur
Place of Birth: Kitimat, British Columbia
Favourite Food: Pizza — especially when it’s made with a sourdough crust.
About Me:
I’m Dr. Sunny Bhullar, an optometrist at Look Optometry and a passionate advocate for better vision and overall health. With over 10 years of experience in the eye care field, I combine clinical expertise with a creative, patient-centered approach.
Born in Kitimat but inspired by a global outlook, I thrive at the intersection of science, soul, and strategy — whether it’s leading innovative myopia management programs, fitting specialty scleral lenses, treating dry eye conditions, or helping patients unlock their best vision. I believe in personalized care that supports both clear sight and a full life.
My Experience:
I specialize in myopia management, dry eye treatment, and advanced contact lens fittings, including scleral lenses. Staying at the forefront of optometry technology allows me to offer cutting-edge solutions for patients of all ages. Every day, I’m committed to delivering exceptional, individualized care at Look Optometry.
What I Love About the Eyes:
The eyes aren’t just a reflection of personality — they’re a vital window into overall health. Helping someone improve their vision and quality of life is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
A Fear I’ve Overcome:
Over the past decade, I’ve overcome fears around public speaking and leadership. Stepping out of my comfort zone has allowed me to grow as a clinician, a mentor, and a lifelong learner.
Why I Love Working at Look Optometry:
Look Optometry is more than a clinic — it’s a community built on innovation, trust, and human connection. Helping patients see the world more clearly, while building lasting relationships, is what makes my work here truly meaningful.

Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Preetpal (Sunny) Saggu
Optometrist | Pediatric & Myopia | Family-Focused Vision Advocate
Place of Birth:
Born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia
Favourite Food:
Homemade pizza — because the secret is always in the dough.
Hobbies:
When I'm not in the clinic, you’ll find me playing ball hockey, working out, or enjoying walks and hikes with my family. I’m a big hockey fan and love any opportunity to stay active and connected.
My Journey in Optometry:
My passion for optometry began in 2009 when I volunteered with Dr. Bhullar at Look Optometry. Shortly after, I joined the team as an employee, which inspired me to pursue my Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. After graduating in 2015, I returned to Surrey and rejoined Look Optometry — and I've been proud to call it home ever since.
Areas of Focus:
I have a special interest in pediatric eye care, myopia management, and early intervention strategies to help protect children's vision. Working with young patients and guiding families through the best vision care solutions is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice.
What I Love About the Eyes:
The eyes tell a story far beyond just vision. They can reveal early signs of systemic health conditions, allowing us to catch and manage problems before they escalate. It’s an incredible responsibility — and an incredible gift — to help patients protect their sight and overall well-being.
A Fear or Challenge I’ve Overcome:
Moving away to the U.S. for optometry school was a major personal challenge. Having lived my entire life in Surrey, stepping into a new country and new environment pushed me out of my comfort zone. But it also led to tremendous personal and professional growth — experiences that shaped who I am today.
Why I Love Working at Look Optometry:
Look Optometry is more than just a clinic — it's a community built on compassion, innovation, and teamwork. I’m proud to be part of a team that shares a mission to help others and spread positive energy. Being able to offer eye exams in Punjabi allows me to connect with and better serve members of our South Asian community, ensuring that language is never a barrier to essential care.

Place of Birth: Born and raised in Surrey BC
Favourite Food:
Being from Vietnam, I can never say no to a nice bowl of steaming Pho. Give me a nice tasty bowl of noodles, and you have my heart. No, I don’t like rice..
Hobbies:
Cooking is my jam! Being in the kitchen and striking up something delicious for others to enjoy makes me happy! Returning an empty plate garners all smiles! Having said that, I really enjoy going out to eat and having different culinary experiences. Mostly, it's about the food; other times, it's about the company you're with, the music that's playing, the atmosphere or quality of the restaurant, or you're travelling in a new city away from home. To be honest, I love everything about food.
Experience in Optometry/Opticinary:
I can't say that I knew this industry (optometry and eyewear) was where I would end up in. I started working in the industry more than a decade ago and started as an optometric assistant. I was slowly introduced to a wide range of different situations and to all aspects of optometry and eyewear. What really piqued my curiosity and interest was when I learned about all the different types of lenses and frames. I realized how much optometry and eyewear compliment one another and that's when I realized how much I enjoyed this industry. Finding the right lens and glasses frame is a science and an art! I love finding that right balance between the need for clarity and crispness in your lenses so you can see, but also the fit, style, and comfort of the frame so it looks great and wears comfortably. I want people to see great and look even better!
What Do You Love About the Eyes:
I love that a set of eyes can tell many stories and that each set of eyes can see differently from any other. I love the inherent contradiction between the fact that people can literally look at the same thing without truly seeing it the same. Fear You Have Overcome in the Last 10 Years:</strong> I have overcome my fear of spiders. Just kidding, I have a husband I can call for to kill them for me now.
Why You Love Working at Look Optometry:
Because it’s a place you can come to nd genuinely say you’re a part of an amazing establishment. It's as much about the patient experience as it is the quality of the service and the utility of the information. We treat each other like family and you are encouraged to be yourself and push your boundaries, so the opportunity for personal and professional growth is exponential.
